Our vision

The vision of the Souhegan Valley Outreach Team (SVOT) is to promote communication and action between and amongst churches and community organizations to improve the well-being of those who live in the Souhegan Valley.

Our story

  • 14th year made up of men and women currently from 7 area churches
  • 2004 – originally birthed as part of New Hampshire Alliance (NHA) comprised of various regions of NH.
  • 2018- weekly pastors meeting replaced by current team of pastors, leaders and lay people with a strong desire to seek the well-being of the city (Jeremiah 29:7) via outreach into our community.
  • SVOT has expanded to partner with community organizations to address the many ills that currently impact the current culture across the Souhegan Valley.
  • Our largest and most effective event is “Community Connections”- conducted at Keyes Field in Milford on Wednesdays for six weeks during the summer specifically to meet and interact with one another.

“Seek the well-being [peace, welfare, prosperity] of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its well-being you will find your well-being.” Jeremiah 29:7

Our relationship with New Hampshire Alliance

The New Hampshire Alliance started in 1991 as a group of leaders who prayed and gathered regularly to pray about unity. These prayers sowed into what would be established as the “NH Alliance, an Association of Evangelical and Renewal Ministries” in 2003. For 30 years, this organization has been continuing the call to unity, faithfully developing relationships across the state of New Hampshire.

By 2015, we (SVOT) became one of the regions of the NHA known initially as Souhegan Valley United Prayer; focusing on pastors and leaders in our weekly and quarterly meetings, eventually to include collaborative outreach events leading to the current SVOT organization in 2018.

Meanwhile, the NHA has grown into a statewide organization with 10 regions covering the state of New Hampshire. More information on the NHA, its mission and goals can be found here: https://nhalliance.net
