Community Connections Guidelines
Late June - Early August
Welcome to our friends, participants, collaborators and most importantly, families from Milford and surrounding communities. Souhegan Valley Outreach Team (SVOT) is once again hosting Community Connections at Keyes Memorial Park in Milford NH.
The dates will be as per past practices on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, beginning with the last Wednesday in June through the first Wednesday in August. We WILL NOT BE MEETING ON the Wednesday of the July 4th week. See our Home page for the exact dates.
Community Connections is a fairly low-key event with kids on the playground, people milling around, eating—free burgers, hot dogs, and drinks are provided—and visiting the booths of our community partners and/or enjoying the music and getting to know one another. Some of the booths have games or activities for children and we are right next to the playground.
We are sharing the following operational guidelines to make every effort to make these gatherings pleasurable for ALL ATTENDEES, while offering a short escape from the concerns and stresses of the day.
Intended Focus of the Gatherings
- Healthy outlet for parents and children
- We are here to care for each other
- A safe place to enjoy play, activities, and food
- Engaging with neighbors and friends in healthy conversation
- Giving parents a night off from cooking meals
- Giving local service organizations a space to offer help
- Where possible, directing families to needed services
- Discussing ways to support a healthy, growing, and loving community
- Free handouts are permissible at your booths

Areas/topics to Avoid
- Partisan politics & related topics
- Divisive topics
- Signs or images of potentially offensive positions
- Loud or abusive conversations
- No selling of goods
As in the past, these events are free to the public. The intent of these gatherings is and will continue to be to create a safe and fun place for families, children, people from all walks of life, all races, all creeds. We thank our fellow agencies for their support and attendance in bringing their resources to create spaces for fun and joy to the community.
